Last updated: October 2026

Effective Date: October 2026

Monmouth Films (“Monmouth Films,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) welcomes submissions from writers, filmmakers, producers, creators, rights holders, and other individuals and companies interested in presenting projects for potential development, production, financing, licensing, or distribution.

We appreciate the time and effort involved in developing creative material. Please read this Submission Policy carefully before submitting anything to us.

By submitting material to Monmouth Films, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below.

1. WHAT YOU MAY SUBMIT

Depending on the submission opportunity, Monmouth Films may accept materials including:

  • Feature film screenplays
  • Television or limited-series scripts
  • Treatments
  • Pitch decks
  • Series bibles
  • Synopses and loglines
  • Original concepts
  • True-story proposals
  • Documentary concepts
  • Underlying intellectual property
  • Other materials relevant to a potential film or television project

We may limit the types of submissions accepted at any particular time.

2. SUBMIT ONLY MATERIAL YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUBMIT

By submitting material, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the material or have the necessary rights and authority to submit it;
  • Your submission does not knowingly infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights of another person or entity;
  • You have the authority to grant Monmouth Films the rights described in this Submission Policy;
  • Your submission does not contain knowingly unlawful or fraudulent material; and
  • Your submission complies with any applicable agreements or obligations to third parties.

If your project is based on true events, existing intellectual property, a book, article, person, event, or other underlying material, you should clearly identify the nature of the rights you control or are seeking to secure.

3. NO CONFIDENTIALITY

Please do not submit material that you consider confidential or that you are unwilling to disclose without a separate written confidentiality agreement.

Unless Monmouth Films expressly agrees otherwise in a separate written agreement, submissions will not be treated as confidential or proprietary.

Monmouth Films does not undertake to maintain the confidentiality of unsolicited submissions.

If confidentiality is important to a particular project, please contact Monmouth Films before submitting the material to determine whether a separate confidentiality agreement is appropriate.

4. NO OWNERSHIP TRANSFER

Submitting material does not transfer ownership of your intellectual property to Monmouth Films.

You retain whatever ownership rights you possess in your submitted material, subject to any separate written agreement between you and Monmouth Films.

Submission of material does not grant Monmouth Films ownership, copyright, or other proprietary rights in the material.

5. LIMITED RIGHT TO REVIEW AND EVALUATE

By submitting material, you grant Monmouth Films and its authorized representatives a limited right to access, reproduce, store, and review the submitted material solely as reasonably necessary to evaluate the submission and consider potential business, development, production, financing, licensing, distribution, or other opportunities.

This limited right does not constitute a transfer of ownership.

6. SIMILAR OR INDEPENDENTLY DEVELOPED MATERIAL

You acknowledge that Monmouth Films, its employees, producers, contractors, advisors, partners, or other industry contacts may already be developing or may later develop projects, ideas, concepts, themes, characters, stories, formats, or other materials that are similar to or may resemble elements contained in your submission.

You agree that Monmouth Films’ independent development, acquisition, production, or consideration of material that is similar to your submission does not, by itself, establish that Monmouth Films used your submission or infringed your rights.

Monmouth Films has the right to independently develop and pursue projects obtained from sources other than your submission.

7. NO OBLIGATION TO REVIEW OR RESPOND

Submission of material does not guarantee that Monmouth Films will:

  • Review the submission;
  • Respond to the submitter;
  • Provide feedback;
  • Request additional materials;
  • Enter into discussions;
  • Acquire or option the project;
  • Develop or produce the project;
  • Finance the project;
  • Distribute or license the project; or
  • Offer compensation.

Monmouth Films may decline to pursue any submission for any reason and is not required to provide an explanation.

8. NO COMPENSATION FOR SUBMISSION

Unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement, you will not be entitled to compensation, royalties, fees, credit, ownership, or other consideration merely because you submit material or because Monmouth Films reviews or considers the material.

Any compensation, option, purchase, development, production, writing, consulting, licensing, distribution, or other arrangement must be established through a separate written agreement signed by the appropriate parties.

9. REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL

You should not submit material that contains confidential information belonging to another person or entity, or material that you are prohibited from disclosing.

If your submission includes material owned by another party, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions before submitting it.

10. PERSONAL INFORMATION

Information provided with a submission, including your name, contact information, professional information, and other personal information, may be collected and used in accordance with the Monmouth Films Privacy Policy.

Submitted project materials may be accessed by Monmouth Films personnel and, where reasonably necessary, by trusted representatives, advisors, producers, production partners, financing partners, distributors, licensing partners, or other industry professionals evaluating a potential opportunity.

11. SUBMISSION FORMAT

Monmouth Films may establish technical requirements for submissions, including accepted file types, file sizes, submission forms, and other requirements.

We may decline to accept submissions that are incomplete, corrupted, inaccessible, excessively large, or otherwise incompatible with our submission system.

Unless otherwise requested, please submit only the materials reasonably necessary for us to understand and evaluate the project.

12. UNSOLICITED MATERIALS

Monmouth Films may receive a significant volume of creative material.

We cannot guarantee that unsolicited submissions will be reviewed or considered.

Where possible, we encourage submitters to provide a concise logline, synopsis, project description, relevant credits, and information regarding the rights or underlying material associated with the project.

13. PROFESSIONAL REPRESENTATION

If you are represented by an agent, attorney, manager, producer, or other authorized representative, we encourage you to submit through that representative where appropriate.

Nothing in this policy prevents Monmouth Films from communicating directly with a submitter where permitted.

14. NO RELATIONSHIP CREATED

Submission of material does not create an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, agency relationship, fiduciary relationship, producer relationship, representation agreement, or other business relationship between you and Monmouth Films.

Any such relationship must be established through a separate written agreement.

15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Monmouth Films may modify this Submission Policy from time to time.

The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date.

The Submission Policy in effect at the time of your submission will generally govern that submission, subject to applicable law and any separate written agreement.
